Treatments from Facial Contours

The following treatments are available at all clinics:

• Muscle relaxing injections

  This is the most effective and safest treatment available to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. When it is injected, it relaxes the muscles and smoothes the lines that they cause, e.g. frown lines, forehead and laughter lines. Treatments will last 3-4 months.
  

• Treatment for hyperhidrosis

  Excessive sweating from the underarm area can be stopped for up to 9 months by a few simple muscle relaxing injections.

• Dermal fillers

  These are injectable treatments which can be used to plump out nose to mouth lines and deeper wrinkles, or to enhance lips to make them looker plumper and more youthful. Faces can be contoured, brows lifted and chins and jaws defined.
  • The most frequently used fillers are hyaluronic acid based (Perlane, Restylane, Hydrafil softline, Hydrafil softline max Juvederm Ultra). These fillers break down to water and are completely reabsorbed by the body. They usually last 6-9 months.
  • 
    Evolence is a long lasting collagen filler. It can be used to soften lines and augment lips just like the hyaluronic acid fillers. It will usually last for 12-14 months.
    
  • Radiesse is the thickest and longest lasting dermal filler available. It can be used to remove deeper lines, to sculpt cheeks and jaw lines and to add volume to the face.
    
  • SCULPTRA treatments restore lost volume to the face. This product truly gives a non-surgical "injectable facelift," and is one of our most popular products. Results last about 3 years but you may need 2-3 treatments to achieve optimum results.
    

• Restylane vital treatments

  To treat hands, necks and improve a creepy decolletage.
  

• Chemical peels

  Facial Contours advocates the use of TCA based peels to remove dead skin cells and sun damaged areas of skin. There are different levels of peels available and your doctor will decide which is most suitable for you following a personal consultation. Peels can help remove fine lines, freckles, sun spots, roughened areas of skin and pigmentation problems. Deeper peels are available on request and can aid in removing scars and more severe skin damage.
  

• Microdermabrasion

  This is a standard in skin rejuvenation and care. The top layer of skin is painlessly exfoliated then vacuumed away. This stimulates skin cells to produce new healthy skin and improves blood flow.

• Sclerotherapy

  Available to remove threadveins from legs. Two or three treatments may be required for best results.

• Treatments for acne, rosacea and scarring

  Prescription ranges of creams and occasionally chemical peels.

• Treatment of sun damaged skin and pigmentation

  Physician designed skin treatment regimes, including Obagi Nu-Derm, Aestheticare and Skin-Tech.
  

• Skin analysis under Woods Light machine

  This can detect dry skin, blocked pores, sun damage, hormone deficiencies, pigmentation, tough skin, blackheads, acne and scarring. Following this, a complete anti-ageing programme can be tailored to your individual needs.
